Choice of Drugs Under Certain Conditions

 

Selection of medicines by several factors:

1. GI diseases

Drugs that can aggravate this condition, such as aspirin, steroids, etc.

2. Liver disease

Hepatotoxic medications, medications that are depressing the central nervous system (especially morphine), a powerful diuretic, medications that cause constipation, contraception pill.

3. Renal disease

Tetracycline class of drugs, diuretics, aspirin, anti-diabetic agents and drank.

4. Gestation

- Almost all drugs can cross the placenta.

- No medicine is 100% safe for the fetus.

- Effects of drugs on the fetus cannot have the same pharmacological effects of the mother.

- The metabolism of drugs during pregnancy is slower than when not pregnant.

- Effect of certain drugs are more likely to survive longer in the fetus and the mother, such as chloramphenicol.

- The experience of drug use during pregnancy is limited.

5. Breastfeeding

Almost all food products, beverages and substances by inhalation, when the mother breathes, the material is particularly undesirable, such as drugs, chemicals, environmental pollutants and harmful minerals are found in breast milk.
